Meghan Markle has spent the last couple months largely out of the public eye, but she made a surprise appearance on her Instagram Story today from the set of a photo shoot. The Duchess of Sussex will be releasing a capsule collection of women's workwear to benefit her patronage SmartWorks. She worked with her friend, designer Misha Nonoo, to create the pieces.
Meghan appeared beaming in the video the SussexRoyal account posted of her at the shoot for the collection. She smiled greeting women with hugs and hanging behind the cameras. "Behind the scenes," the video was captioned. "A sneak peek at the new Smart Works Charity capsule collection, ahead of the autumn launch. An initiative supporting the Smart Works collective, which will equip women entering the work force with the key work wear essentials they need. Coming soon…"
Royal reporter Omid Scobie tweeted that he was told she surprised the entire Smart Works London team when she went.
The Duchess of Sussex just returned back to London after two vacations this summer: one in Ibiza and one in Nice (Elton John invited her and Prince Harry to stay at his place). She and her husband are expected to go on a royal tour of Africa this fall. For now, their summer break continues.
A friend told ELLE.com in June that Meghan remained committed to her philanthropic work even during her maternity leave. Although she was focused on Archie too, Meghan is incredibly “passionate about her humanitarian work,” the friend shared.
