The Ventura County Sheriff's Department confirmed on Monday that they had recovered Naya Rivera's body from Lake Piru, and on Tuesday the Ventura County Medical Examiner confirmed that drowning was the cause of her death. Since then, friends, family, and co-stars have published touching tributes to the late 33-year-old.

Big Sean, to whom Rivera became engaged for about six months between October 2013 and April 2014, was one of those people.

This weekend, the rapper shared two photos of Rivera—one of her in black and white and another of her cuddling her son, Josey Dorsey (4).

"Rest In Peace Naya, God Bless your Soul!," he wrote. "Thank you for blessing us all with your talent and presence. you are a hero! Not just because of how you saved your son, also because of the barriers you knocked down for so many people to make them feel confident in themselves and to stand tall and be proud when they couldn’t achieve that on their own. I appreciate and cherish everything that ever happened between us for making me wiser and a better person. I’m still grieving and in shock, I can’t believe this is real. I’m praying for you and your family and I know your watching over them and protecting them. Rest In Peace Naya ???."

Rivera's Glee co-star and close friend, Heather Morris—who played Rivera's love interest and wife on the show—asked to be part of the Ventura County Sheriff Department's search. After the team found Rivera, Morris posted the following message about her friend, along with some photos of their children playing.

"You constantly taught me lessons about grief, about beauty and poise, about being strong, resilient and about not giving a fuck (but still somehow respectful)," she wrote, in part. "Yet, the utmost important lesson I learned most of all from you was being a consistent and loving friend. You were the first to check in, the first to ask questions, the first to listen..you cherished our friendship and I never took that for granted. "
