What happens when you take one of this summer's biggest new couples and have them perform the duet that started their dating rumors live on stage? You get Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes' chemistry-filled, romantic "Señorita" rendition at the MTV VMAs. The two took the stage to sing the song in the middle of the show, and they did not hold back. (This is the couple that was filmed making out in a New York City restaurant yesterday, after all.)
Fans captured video of the performance:
Mendes and Cabello have several nominations tonight. Mendes is nominated for Artist of the Year. He and Cabello are nominated for Best Collaboration ("Señorita"), Best Art Direction (for their "Señorita" music video), Best Choreography (for their "Señorita" music video), and Best Cinematography ("Señorita"). The two have been in New York City this weekend. Mendes will be performing in Columbus, Ohio tomorrow on his tour.
He and Cabello just celebrated their song going #1 on the Billboard Top 100 earlier this afternoon. Billboard got comments from both of them on the achievement.
"I'm so excited about the success of 'Señorita,' and thank you so much to our incredible fans who made this all a reality," Mendes told the outlet. "We really put everything into this song and couldn't have wished for more."
"Thank you to our fans; we could not have done this without you," Cabello added. "We are so grateful and I'm so happy to share this moment with Shawn."
